Letter from the Pastor’s Desk
I am truly humbled and honored for this awesome privilege to The St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church and the Cliffwood Community. It’s my desire to honor God in all that we do here, by fulfilling the call of loving God and those whom I serve in pastoral ministry. I firmly believe that the Lord has something in store for us all, “it doth not yet appear what we shall be”. (1 John 3:2).
Like God’s chosen leaders Moses and Paul, their instruction and goals as leaders mimic my ambition as your pastor:
Let my teaching fall on you like rain; let my speech settle like dew. Let my words fall like rain on tender grass, like gentle showers on young plants. 3I will proclaim the name of the Lord; how glorious is our God! 4He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is!
Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children 2 and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Our challenge is to make every effort and to take advantage of every opportunity to show an appreciation for God’s Amazing Grace. God’s abundance of grace has been more than enough for our beloved church. God has brought us from a ‘tent to temple’ reminding us that God’s presence has kept us and His manifestation will lead us in the days ahead.
2 Corinthians 5:1
For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands
