The Future Is Now

Described by Forbes as “the ultimate thinking machine,” American author, inventor, and futurist Ray Kurzweil published volumes of insightful predictions about the technology-driven future that we are currently living in.

A great deal of Kurzweil’s vision is based on the idea that the rate of computation does not increase linearly, but exponentially. He explains that one could observe how quickly computers improve and then make an educated guess about its foreseeable future through a pattern. But only up to a point.

In this infographic, we explore whether or not Kurzweil was right. Which of his major forecasts came to fruition? Which haven’t happened yet? Check out what’s happening now and what might happen in the future.
