Are 833 phone numbers actually toll free?
Yes. 833 numbers function exactly the same as 800 numbers and every other available prefix (888, 877, 866, 855, and 844).
What’s the difference between 833 numbers and 800 numbers?
The difference is that you now have a lot more options when it comes to choosing a toll free number. 800 numbers were the first toll frees released and are in constant high demand. The release of new 833 numbers means vanity options that are already taken (e.g. 1-800-FLOWERS) on the other prefixes are now available as 833 numbers.
